Terms and Conditions | Anagnostis Luxury Charters

Last updated: October 16, 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern charter bookings made through anagnostis.info, the website of Anagnostis Luxury Charters, serving Athens and the wider Greek islands. They apply to every enquiry, quote and confirmed charter, whether for a single day on the water or a longer voyage, and they sit alongside the written quote you receive from us, which sets out the specific price and inclusions for your charter.

Scope and who we are

Anagnostis Luxury Charters operates anagnostis.info and arranges crewed yacht and boat charters departing from Athens, across the Saronic Gulf and the Cyclades. We present a curated fleet of around 34 yachts, from day-cruisers to long-range motor yachts, with day rates from €1,700, and we work with captains and port authorities across the islands whom we have known for years. These Terms apply to every charter booked through our website, by email, phone or WhatsApp, and they form part of the contract between you and Anagnostis Luxury Charters once a booking is confirmed.

From enquiry to confirmed booking

Charters are not booked or paid for online. You submit an enquiry through the form on anagnostis.info, or you contact us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp, indicating the yacht you are interested in, if any, the proposed charter dates and the number of guests. We reply with a written quote covering the yacht, itinerary, price and inclusions for your specific request. No booking exists until we confirm it in writing and the deposit set out below has been paid; a quote on its own is not a confirmed booking and remains subject to the yacht's availability.

Prices and what is included

The price stated in your written quote is the price that applies to your charter. It covers the yacht, crew and the inclusions described in that quote. Fuel, marina and berthing fees, the advance provisioning allowance (APA) on larger yachts, catering and any other extras are charged exactly as set out in the quote; we do not add charges that were not quoted to you. If your plans change in a way that affects itinerary length, guest numbers or provisioning, we will issue a revised quote before any additional charge applies.

Payment and deposit

A booking is confirmed once we have received a deposit equal to 40% of the charter fee. The remaining balance is due 10 days before departure. We will confirm the payment method and timing in writing when we send your booking confirmation. Charter fees are payable in the currency and manner stated in that confirmation.

Cancellation and changes by the client

Because a charter is a leisure service reserved for a specific date, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under Directive 2011/83/EU does not apply, as Article 16(l) of that Directive excludes services relating to leisure activities to be performed on a specific date. In its place, we apply the following voluntary cancellation policy, which is more generous than the law requires.

If you cancel more than 21 days before departure, your deposit is refunded in full. If you cancel between 10 and 21 days before departure, the deposit is retained. If you cancel less than 10 days before departure, the full charter fee becomes due, regardless of the deposit already paid.

Cancellation must be made in writing by email to [email protected]; the date on which we receive your message is the date used to apply the tiers above. Requests to change dates, yachts or guest numbers are handled as amendments where the yacht's availability allows, and may result in a revised quote rather than a cancellation.

Cancellation by us — weather, safety and force majeure

If, on the day, the captain or the relevant port authority considers conditions unsafe for departure, you may choose between a free new date for your charter or a full refund of amounts paid. The captain's decision on matters of safety is final and is not open to negotiation, as it reflects a professional judgement made for the protection of guests and crew. The same choice of a new date or a full refund applies where a charter cannot proceed because of a genuine technical issue with the yacht or because of force majeure, meaning events beyond our reasonable control such as official port closures or extreme weather warnings.

Guest capacity, safety rules and the captain's authority

The number of guests on board may never exceed the licensed capacity of the vessel stated in your booking confirmation. The crew may refuse to allow anyone to board, or may require them to disembark, if they consider that person's conduct or condition endangers the safety of guests, crew or the yacht. Once on board, the captain has full authority over the vessel, the itinerary and all matters of navigation and safety, and all guests are expected to follow the captain's and crew's instructions at all times.

Itinerary changes and conduct on board

The itinerary discussed at booking is indicative. The captain may adjust routes, anchorages or timings in response to weather, sea conditions, port authority instructions or the practical needs of the day, always with the safety and comfort of guests in mind. Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards the crew, other guests and the yacht itself; the crew may curtail a charter without refund of the portion already enjoyed if a guest's behaviour seriously endangers safety or the wellbeing of others on board.

Damage, personal belongings and liability

Guests are responsible for damage to the yacht, its equipment or tender caused by their own negligence or misuse, and we may charge the reasonable cost of repair or replacement in such cases. Personal belongings brought on board remain the guest's own responsibility at all times; we do not accept liability for their loss, theft or damage unless this results directly from our negligence. Our liability for any claim arising from a charter is limited to the charter fee paid for that booking, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Complaints

If anything about your charter falls short of what was agreed in your written quote, please tell the captain or crew at the time, where possible, so that it can be addressed while you are still on board. For any complaint that cannot be resolved on the day, write to us at [email protected] with your booking details and a description of the issue, and we will investigate and respond.

Use of the website, governing law and changes to these terms

The content of anagnostis.info, including yacht descriptions, photographs and text, belongs to Anagnostis Luxury Charters or is used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our written consent. The website is provided to help you research and enquire about charters; it does not itself process payments or finalise bookings, which are confirmed as described above.

These Terms, and any contract formed through anagnostis.info, are governed by the law of Greece. The courts of Athens have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from a booking or from these Terms, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply to you.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The version published on anagnostis.info at the time of your booking confirmation is the version that applies to your charter.
